Job summary

Dignity plc is seeking a high-impact Head of Transactional Finance in the UK to lead and modernise our transactional finance operations across AP, AR, and Treasury. You will shape strategy, drive automation and strengthen controls while staying closely involved in day-to-day processing when needed.

You will mentor a team, deliver performance reporting to senior stakeholders and partner with IT and Finance to optimise systems and processes.

Qualifications

• A strong track record in finance transformation, process improvement and automation.
• Experience leading and developing a transactional finance team.
• Deep knowledge of financial controls, governance, compliance and audit.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build cross-functional relationships.
• Commercial and analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, collaborative approach with readiness to assist in operations when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the transactional finance team to high performance.
• Oversee end-to-end AP, AR and Treasury processes with accuracy and compliance.
• Identify simplification, standardisation and process improvements.
• Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives across ERP systems.
• Set objectives, KPIs and SLAs; ensure consistent delivery.
• Strengthen controls and align with audits and governance.
• Act as liaison for internal and external audits related to transactional finance.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT and other areas to integrate systems and streamline workflows.
• Provide reporting, insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities with a hands-on approach.
