Job description

Head of Talent Management
UK | Remote | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: £95,000 - £105,000 + £6.5k car allowance and excellent benefits

Are you passionate about helping people build meaningful careers while shaping the future capability of an organisation? We’re looking for an experienced talent leader to drive a progressive talent and careers agenda across a complex, international business.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence talent strategy at an enterprise level, working closely with senior leaders to create an environment where careers are visible, development is intentional, and internal mobility is actively encouraged. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation has the talent, leadership capability and succession strength needed to achieve its future ambitions.

As Head of Talent & Careers, you’ll lead the evolution of the organisation’s talent, careers and succession approach, helping colleagues take ownership of their development while creating the frameworks, pathways and talent pipelines that support long-term business success. You’ll be equally comfortable operating strategically with executive stakeholders and delivering practical initiatives that improve career outcomes across the business.

What you’ll be doing

You will:

  • Lead and evolve the enterprise talent, careers and succession strategy.
  • Develop career pathways, role architecture and skills frameworks that support growth and internal mobility.
  • Champion a strong internal-first approach to talent deployment and career progression.
  • Drive succession planning and strengthen leadership pipelines across key business areas.
  • Deliver engaging career initiatives, campaigns and colleague development programmes.
  • Partner with business and people leaders to identify talent risks and create targeted solutions.
  • Provide senior leadership with meaningful talent insights to support workforce and succession decisions.
  • Support organisational transformation by assessing talent, capability and career implications of change.
What we’re looking for

We’re interested in speaking with experienced talent development and organisational development professionals who have successfully led enterprise-wide careers, talent or succession programmes within large, complex organisations.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in talent management, career development and succession planning.
  • A track record of designing and implementing career frameworks, talent pathways or skills-based approaches.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Strong consulting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business priorities into practical people solutions.
  • Experience using data and insight to drive talent decisions and identify organisational risks.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and execution.
  • A collaborative approach and the credibility to work across diverse teams and functions.
Why apply?

This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact on how careers are experienced across a global organisation. You’ll help create opportunities for colleagues to develop, grow and progress, while ensuring the business has the skills and leadership capability required for the future.
