Job summary

BRC is seeking a Head of Supported Housing to lead the operational delivery and development of a growing Housing and Support service across the North West. This senior leadership role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management of performance, quality, safeguarding and financial targets.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches and requires experience with Supported Exempt Accommodation, Housing Benefit-based services and strong relationships with commissioners

Qualifications

• Extensive management experience in supported housing, housing or homelessness services.
• Experience with people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation, regulation and good practice.
• Experience managing operational risk across complex or geographically dispersed services.
• Experience with Supported Exempt Accommodation and Housing Benefit-based services.
• Track record of transformational change, service growth and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Housing and Support department's operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Oversee mobilisation, development and growth of Supported Exempt Accommodation services.
• Lead safeguarding frameworks, processes and compliance.
• Manage remote teams across the region and foster a high-performing culture.
• Build and maintain relationships with local authority commissioners, partners and stakeholders.
• Support homelessness prevention pathways and strategic objectives.
• Manage departmental budgets, performance and financial targets.
• Oversee support planning, risk management, service quality and contractual performance.
• Develop resident feedback, complaints and lived experience processes.
• Embed voices of people with lived experience into service design and performance improvement.
• Develop partnerships with employers, community organisations and charities to create opportunities for residents.
• Identify opportunities for service growth and continuous improvement.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing Housing and Support team.
• Monitor legislative and sector developments to ensure compliance.
