THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners has been retained by a leading impact and sustainability organisation committed to transforming scientific ideas into tangible products and services addressing global challenges in areas such as life sciences, climate, agriculture, and public sector innovation. By fostering collaboration among policymakers, entrepreneurs, and scientists, they aim to build systems that overcome traditional barriers to converting research into viable business ideas.

The search is for an experienced professional with deep expertise in climate and clean energy technologies or sustainable agriculture. The candidate will lead a team of strategists and project managers, guiding initiatives from conception through to business case development and transition into delivery structures. This role suits candidates with experience in venture creation, private equity, or management consulting.

THE ROLE:

• Lead the strategy team, managing personnel and financial resources to develop programs.
• Oversee the full program development lifecycle, from ideation to business planning.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including scientists, AI experts, and stakeholders, to advance new concepts.
• Define and monitor corporate strategy, ensuring impact and progress.
• Manage special projects and innovative science/technology ventures beyond standard programs.
• Maintain visibility of the program pipeline, optimizing resources and strategic alignment.
• Ensure consistency across initiatives, leveraging organizational strengths for innovation.
• Communicate strategy and priorities effectively to leadership and stakeholders.
• Foster collaboration across programs to maximize impact.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 15+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in business development, strategy consulting, or related fields.
• 10+ years in management with proven leadership and team development skills.
• Experience in taking ideas from early development to commercialization and scaling.
• Deep expertise in Energy Efficiency/Climate or Food Security & Sustainable Agriculture.
• Strong proficiency in AI, machine learning, policy, and innovation scaling.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in business, science/technology policy, or a relevant technical field is preferred but not mandatory.
