Job Description:

We are seeking a Head of Software Development for a large public sector organization based in Manchester. The role offers hybrid working and a package of up to £110,000, based on performance. The package includes an £80,000 base salary, up to 40% bonus, and benefits. The role requires on-site presence with your team up to 3 days a week.

This position is within a successful global business, leading a team of 10 Software Engineers and QAs. You will work on industry-leading platform development and transformational change on a global scale, providing exposure to the latest technologies, approaches, and methodologies.

The role is management-focused, with no coding expectations. The focus is on driving high-quality solutions and efficient delivery across existing systems and ongoing innovation and transformation projects.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Experience leading and managing Software Engineers and QA teams
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, system design, and documentation skills
• Background in C# .NET, Azure, REST APIs, and Test Automation
• Experience leading Agile teams
• Budget and resource management skills

Preferred (Bonus) Skills:

• Experience with global enterprise systems
• Energy or Utilities industry experience (not essential)
