Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking an experienced Head of Service or senior operational manager to lead frontline services supporting women and children affected by domestic violence. Service Manager

Salary: £39,755 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Position: Temp to Perm

DBS: Enhanced DBS required

Driving: Full driving licence and access to a car required

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Service or senior operational manager to lead and oversee specialist frontline services supporting women and children affected by domestic violence and abuse.

You will provide strong operational leadership across multiple service areas, supporting Team Managers and ensuring services deliver high-quality, trauma-informed and survivor-centred support.

Working as part of a senior leadership team, you will contribute to strategic planning, service development, performance management and partnership working, ensuring services meet contractual requirements and respond effectively to the needs and lived experiences of survivors.

Key Responsibilities

• Line manage and support Team Managers, ensuring effective service delivery and performance.
• Lead on the development and implementation of service delivery plans.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with statutory, voluntary and community partners.
• Work closely with commissioners and partner agencies to ensure services are effective and integrated.
• Oversee complex cases and ensure appropriate safeguarding and risk management.
• Support teams to manage demanding caseloads safely and effectively.
• Ensure services meet contractual, legal and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and support quality improvement across services.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation and reporting to demonstrate service outcomes.
• Support budget management and financial monitoring.
• Contribute to tendering and fundraising processes.
• Chair and participate in complex multi-agency meetings.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and other legal requirements are met.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Significant management and leadership experience within domestic abuse, social care, housing, health or a related environment.
• Experience working with women and children affected by domestic abuse.
• Strong experience managing complex cases and crisis situations.
• Experience managing, developing and leading services.
• Significant staff management and development experience.
• Experience managing multiple projects and ensuring contract compliance.
• Experience working with commissioners and a wide range of statutory and voluntary sector partners.
• Experience managing budgets and financial monitoring.
• Experience of quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation.
• Strong knowledge of domestic abuse and trauma-informed service delivery.
• Strong people-management and leadership abilities.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage unpredictable situations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Working Arrangements

The role is 37 hours per week and may occasionally require evening or weekend work.

There will also be on-call duties on a rota basis.
