Job summary

Maritime Academy, part of The Thinking Schools Academy Trust, seeks a Head of Science to lead the department as the academy expands to include Key Stage 5 provision from September 2027. The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader, an outstanding teacher and a strategic thinker, shaping science across KS3-5 and driving high standards and ambitious student outcomes.

The role requires a qualified Science teacher with strong leadership, collaboration and curriculum development skills,

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Science teacher with a passion for teaching and learning.
• Experience in science leadership roles within a school is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape the science curriculum across KS3, KS4 and from Sep 2027 KS5.
• Drive attainment and progression in science and build a culture of high expectations.
