Job description

Role:Head of Retail Expansion

Contract Type:Full Time, working 37.5 hours per day, 5 days per week

Location:Hybrid, working 3 days a week in our offices based in Old Street, London

About You

You are a strategic and visionary retail leader with a passion for crafting premium customer experiences in the physical retail space. You bring global expertise, operational excellence, and a proven track record in launching high-impact stores. With a sharp eye for detail, strong commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of how to bring a brand to life in the real world, you thrive in fast-paced environments and love building exceptional teams.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Global Retail Expansion:Spearhead Oner Active’s physical retail strategy, from concept to execution, with a focus on scalability and brand impact.
  • Store Launch Execution:Oversee the end-to-end process of launching new stores, from initial planning through to grand opening, ensuring excellence at every stage.
  • Location Strategy:Source high-potential locations globally (with a focus on the UK and North America), leveraging strong relationships with trusted real estate partners.
  • Project Management:Lead external agencies and contractors including architects and build teams, managing timelines, budgets, and execution with precision.
  • Retail Team Leadership:Recruit, train, and inspire in-store teams, ensuring they deliver exceptional customer experiences and achieve sales targets.
  • Sales & Performance:Set KPIs, monitor performance, and continuously optimise operations to drive profitability and elevate the in-store customer journey.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with brand, operations, and product teams to ensure each store reflects Oner Active’s identity and community values.

You’ll need to have:

  • A minimum of10 years of experienceleading retail teams and executing store openings at scale.
  • Direct experience opening physical storesin bothNorth America and the UK.
  • Demonstrated success managinglarge-scale retail budgetsand staying on time and under cost.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and external partners.
  • A network oftrusted real estate agents, contractors, and premium design firms.
  • Expertise across all areas ofretail operations, including staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer experience.
  • High proficiency inExcel, Word, and PowerPointfor strategic planning and reporting.
  • A sharp strategic mind with the ability to align retail initiatives with broader business goals.
