Job summary

The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews is seeking a Senior Manager – Reservations to lead a team of five Reservations Coordinators, drive conversion and revenue, and deliver personalised five‑star guest service.

Reporting to the Director of Revenue & Sales, you will translate commercial strategy into reservations activity, implement pricing strategies, and oversee new PMS/CRS systems while coaching and developing your team.

• Track record of leading, coaching and developing teams
• Knowledge of hotel property management or reservations systems
• Excellent communication and guest service skills

• Collaborative leadership and cross-department relationship building

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Reservations team to a high-performing, engaged environment.
• Drive proactive sales culture, maximise conversion and revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with Revenue and Sales to implement pricing, promotions and conversion strategies.
• Deliver consistently exceptional, personalised guest service in line with five-star standards.
• Monitor booking patterns, call volumes, conversion performance and departmental targets.
• Ensure accurate communication of rates, packages, availability and booking conditions.
• Oversee team training, development, performance and ongoing coaching.
• Manage departmental rotas and resources effectively within budget.
• Build strong relationships across Sales, Marketing, Events, Front Office and operations.
• Support implementing and embedding new PMS and reservations systems.
• Confidently manage complex reservations and high-value guest requirements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance both commercial performance and guest experience.
