GlobalPayments in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Release Manager to lead a team responsible for rolling out changes to a high-volume payment gateway and related cloud platforms. You will shape release strategy, manage the full life cycle and ensure safe, compliant deployments across distributed teams.

The role requires extensive experience in release management, cloud and DevOps practices, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Typically requires nine or more years of relevant experience in release management, software delivery, technology operations or platform delivery.

Responsibilities

Line manager of a team of release managers responsible for roll out of changes to a high volume payment gateway.
Defines and leads the release management strategy for GlobalPayments payment gateways, cloud platforms and supporting technology services.
Manages the full release lifecycle including planning, readiness, deployment, monitoring and post-release validation.
Ensures changes are delivered safely, predictably and without negative customer impact.
Owns release governance across high availability services, balancing delivery throughput, resilience and customer experience.
Leads release planning, scheduling, stakeholder engagement and supplier coordination across distributed teams.
Manages Release Managers and resources including leadership, coaching and performance management.
Allocates resources to support portfolio and programme delivery priorities.
Forecasts resource needs based on product demand and platform roadmap activity.
Ensures release activity adheres to change, audit, PCI, security and risk standards.
Coordinates with engineering, security, audit and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements.
Champions CI/CD, deployment automation, infrastructure as code and repeatable deployment practices.
Ensures deployment approaches suit cloud-hosted and hybrid platforms (AWS, Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, EC2, Helm, Jenkins, Terraform).
Oversees monitoring, alerting, logging for deployment progress and service health.
Manages release communications and escalation on deployment risk.
Ensures quality, resilience and readiness standards are met.
Adheres to software delivery and change management standards.
