We are seeking a dynamic Head of Regional Communications China to lead our Communications and Marketing Hub for Greater China. This role is pivotal in driving DNV Maritime’s vision and strategy in one of the world’s most influential markets. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of 40 high-performing marketing and communications professionals, working across ten countries to deliver thought leadership, strengthen brand reputation, and accelerate growth.

As Head of Regional Communications China, you will steer our integrated communications and marketing strategy across Greater China, ensuring our message resonates with clarity and impact in a complex and fast-evolving environment. Your role will cover strategic business partnering, leadership and marketing communications, branding, digital engagement, media relations, social media, and employee communications, all tailored to local market dynamics.

Reporting to the Global Head of Regional Communications & Brand in Hamburg, Germany, you will be based in our Shanghai office and lead a small, agile team of two Communications Managers. This position demands a visionary leader who combines strategic insight with hands-on execution, capable of amplifying DNV Maritime’s voice as a trusted thought leader and advancing our strategic ambitions for customer‑centricity, innovation and growth.

This role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities:
  • Craft and execute a long‑term integrated communication strategy for Greater China, aligning with the global vision.
  • Manage the communications and marketing budgets for the Region with a focus on efficiency, impact, and measurable ROI.
  • Lead and inspire a high‑performing team, fostering professional growth, collaboration, and a culture of innovation.
  • Act as the strategic bridge between global initiatives and local execution, ensuring seamless integration of tools, platforms, and campaigns.
  • Drive internal and leadership communications to provide a line of sight between high‑level strategy and individual actions and goals.
  • Oversee content creation and distribution across multiple channels – including PR, WeChat, marketing materials, digital platforms, and internal communications – tailored to local market dynamics.
  • Build and maintain strong media relationships, manage inquiries, and provide expert support during crisis situations.
  • Champion a digital‑first approach, leveraging marketing automation and analytics to scale local initiatives globally.
  • Define and track performance metrics for the Communications Hub, ensuring objectives are met and success is quantifiable.
  • Spearhead regional and global communications projects and campaigns, managing them end‑to‑end from conception to execution with precision and creativity.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Regional Management and Business Development teams on all communications matters.
  • Coordinate and elevate the presence at regional trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
  • Safeguard brand integrity and consistency across all communication channels.

Position Qualifications:
  • University degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business Administration or similar
  • At least 5 years of communications, marketing, or sales experience in a B2B business environment
  • Proven track record as a project manager and trusted advisor to top management
  • Experience in leadership positions, skilled in management and team motivation
  • High brand awareness and experience in brand development
  • Demonstrable understanding of content marketing tactics (such as SEO, digital advertising, lead nurturing and social media marketing) and tools (such as Eloqua, SalesForce, GoToWebinar etc.)
  • Ability to perform under pressure, prioritize effectively, and deliver results.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of an international, virtual team
  • Maritime industry experience is a plus
