Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 8B Head of Quality Assurance and Dosimetry (Radiotherapy Physics) in Reading. You will lead QA and calibration of external beam radiotherapy equipment, ensure dosimetry accuracy, and drive compliance with UK practice standards.

The post holder will manage a team across Radiotherapy Physics, collaborate with Imaging and Treatment Planning, participate in equipment evaluation, and may contribute to new purchases.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and UK professional registration required.
• Proven experience in QA, dosimetry and radiotherapy physics.
• Strong knowledge of radiotherapy equipment and QA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Take lead responsibility for QA and radiation dosimetry of external beam radiotherapy equipment.
• Oversee acceptance testing and commissioning of complex radiotherapy equipment.
• Coordinate with Radiotherapy Physics Section to integrate treatment planning and delivery systems.
• Fulfill the role of Medical Physics Expert under IR(ME)R 2017.
