Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Head of Quality Assurance and Dosimetry (Radiotherapy Physics) at Band 8B. You will lead QA and dosimetry for radiotherapy equipment, ensuring calibration and alignment with national standards, while supervising a team and collaborating with Imaging and Treatment Planning sections.

The role requires HCPC registration, extensive radiotherapy physics experience, and a commitment to safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration or eligibility is required.
• Honours degree in Physical Sciences or equivalent.
• Master’s degree in a related subject is desirable.
• Certification as MPE in Radiotherapy Physics is required/advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA and dosimetry for external beam radiotherapy equipment.
• Manage commissioning and calibration of radiotherapy equipment.
• Ensure integration of QA across treatment planning and delivery pathways.
• Act as Medical Physics Expert under IR(ME)R 2017 for radiotherapy physics service.
