Job summary

Hoop Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a leading housing organisation to recruit a Head of Property Services in Wales. The role delivers strategic and operational leadership across property services, with responsibility for budget, performance and customer experience.

You will lead a large multi-disciplinary team, drive mechanical and electrical maintenance, gas servicing, and compliance, while shaping service delivery and digital transformation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing a property maintenance or property services function.

• Strong knowledge of property procurement, contracts and service delivery models.
• Proven experience leading and developing large, diverse technical teams.

• Excellent IT and repairs/maintenance systems experience.

Hoop Recruitment are working with a leading housing organisation to recruit an experienced Head of Property Services.

This is an exciting senior leadership opportunity for an experienced property services, repairs or maintenance professional looking to take responsibility for a large, multi-disciplinary service and make a genuine impact on customer experience, compliance and operational performance.

The Role

As Head of Property Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisation's property services function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient and customer-focused services.

You will have responsibility for an annual budget and provide leadership across a wider workforce, including managers, supervisors, operatives, engineers, planners and administrators.

Your remit will include:

• Responsive repairs and maintenance


• Void property works


• Planned and cyclical maintenance programmes


• Gas servicing and electrical testing

• Contractor, contract and supply chain management

You will work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, providing assurance around performance, financial management, compliance and risk, while driving a culture of continuous improvement.

About You

We are looking for an established property services leader with significant experience of managing property maintenance, repairs or housing services.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience managing a property maintenance or property services function


• Experience delivering compliance, cyclical and capital works programmes


• Experience managing large budgets and high-volume operational services


• Strong knowledge of property procurement, contracts and service delivery models


• Proven experience leading and developing large, diverse technical teams


• Strong financial management, cost control and job costing experience


• Excellent knowledge of health & safety, compliance and regulatory requirements


• Strong analytical, communication and relationship-building skills


• The ability to translate strategic objectives into effective operational delivery


• Excellent IT and repairs/maintenance systems experience

A relevant professional qualification such as CIOB or RICS is desirable.

Experience within a housing association/social housing environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Welsh Housing Quality Standards (WHQS).
