Job description

A social housing group in South Wales is currently seeking to appoint a Head of Property Services on a full-time, permanent basis, with the successful candidate ideally able to start as soon as possible. The salary band for this role is £78,829 to £82,977, with a hybrid working arrangement requiring 2-3 days per week in the office.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong senior leadership experience across property services, planned maintenance and compliance functions, alongside a proven track record of leading organisational change, service transformation and performance improvement programmes.

The organisation has recently undergone significant organisational change, bringing previously separate housing and property services teams together as part of a wider transformation programme. A new Target Operating Model is being implemented to harmonise ways of working, establish consistent processes and create a single, high-performing property services function across the Group.

The combined service has responsibility for a broad range of functions, including:

• Repairs and maintenance
• Voids
• Planned maintenance
• Building and property compliance
• Estates services
• Cleaning
• Elements of asset management

The service supports a housing stock of approximately 5,000 homes and is currently focused on embedding new structures, improving operational performance, strengthening compliance assurance, enhancing customer experience and developing a more integrated organisational culture.

As Head of Property Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of the organisation's transformation and service improvement agenda.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership across the property services function, ensuring services are delivered effectively, compliantly and with a strong focus on customer outcomes.

The role will involve leading teams through continued organisational development, embedding new operating arrangements and driving improvements in service quality, performance and efficiency. You will also be expected to provide strong leadership across planned maintenance and compliance, ensuring appropriate governance, assurance and performance management arrangements are in place.

The successful Head of Property Services will be an experienced senior property services professional with significant experience of operating within a housing, social housing or similarly complex environment. You will ideally bring:

• Significant senior leadership experience across property services, repairs, maintenance and/or compliance.
• A strong understanding of planned maintenance and property compliance requirements.
