Job summary

Anglian Water seeks a Head of Programme Controls to lead the MID function, shaping governance, assurance and reporting for a £2bn infrastructure portfolio. You’ll set strategy, standards and operating models, and drive capability development across internal teams and partners.

You’ll provide executive insight to the MID MD and leadership team on schedule, cost, risk and performance, ensuring a single version of the truth across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading programme or project controls in major infrastructure.
• Strong planning, cost control, risk management and governance skills.
• Experience building high-performing teams and cross-partner delivery.
• Experience providing executive reporting to boards and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Programme Controls function across MID with strategy and standards.
• Provide executive insight on schedule, cost, risk and delivery performance.
• Own governance, assurance and decision-support across the portfolio.
• Lead portfolio health checks, reviews and escalation activities.
• Define reporting frameworks, forecasting, EV analysis and dashboards.
• Develop data architecture, ensuring quality, consistency and traceability.
• Drive continuous improvement and capability development across teams.
• Lead risk and opportunity management for major programmes.
• Ensure NEC contract management, change control and performance evidence.
• Represent controls at senior governance forums and executive reviews.
