Job summary

Anglian Water Group Ltd. is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead strategic engineering across a £2bn Major Infrastructure Delivery portfolio, delivering safe, efficient and resilient solutions.

You will shape design governance, manage risk, and provide executive leadership across complex programmes within a Design & Build delivery model. Reporting to the MD of MID, you will build high-performing teams, champion innovation, and drive whole-life cost optimisation while ensuring regulatory and CDM

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineer with professional chartership, or working towards chartership.
• Significant leadership experience within major infrastructure design, engineering delivery or capital programmes.
• Proven experience leading engineering governance, technical assurance and risk management across complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic engineering leadership across Major Infrastructure Delivery, setting standards and governance.
• Lead engineering strategy for a £2bn capital portfolio, ensuring design assurance and risk management.
• Champion innovative, sustainable and standardised engineering solutions to optimise whole-life cost and performance.
• Ensure design assurance and CDM compliance across programmes.
• Lead resolution of complex engineering challenges to improve outcomes.
• Sponsor digital and modern methods of construction approaches and a #DigitalFirst culture.
• Drive engineering excellence across the supply chain and develop capabilities.
• Provide executive leadership for commissioning and engineering assurance activities.
• Lead innovation and research initiatives to improve resilience and efficiency.
• Strengthen safety in design and process safety governance across major projects.
• Build high-performing teams with succession planning and development.
