Job summary

Fluor Corporation in Manchester is seeking a Head of Pre-Construction to lead the bid and tendering function for nationwide rail projects. You will drive the bid strategy, estimate accuracy and customer satisfaction across the delivery teams.

The role requires strong leadership of the transport estimating function, exceptional analytical skills and a relentless focus on health and safety, with permanent, on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bidding and tendering experience for major rail projects.
• Experience with rail or T&D project bids and estimates.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Our client is a supplier for electrification, offering a full service from Consulting and System Design to Installation and Maintenance.

Head of Pre-Construction - Nationwide

Main Duties:

• Lead and manage the Pre-Construction team to build an engaged, collaborative, and culture of excellence delivering effective bids, accurate estimates, and total customer satisfaction

• Assess and prioritise the bidding opportunities based on an understanding of historical performance (win rate, margin return, repeat business, etc.)

• Build and inspire talented teams, including leadership of all the transport Estimating function.

• Ensure a personal relentless focus on Health & Safety

Essential Qualifications/ Experience

• Working experience in bidding and tendering of major Rail or T&D projects

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ensuring attention to detail

• Highly organised and able to manage own time effectively to meet deadlines
