Job summary

Sembcorp Energy UK seeks a Head of Operations, Engineering and Maintenance to lead safe, reliable operation of the gas-fired generation and battery storage fleet. You will manage engineering and maintenance across sites, drive regulatory compliance and deliver the annual O&M plan.

Reporting to the Head of Transformation, this role requires strategic leadership, safety focus and strong collaboration with Energy Trading and external partners.

Qualifications

• Substantial leadership experience in operations, engineering or maintenance.
• Experience delivering an O&M budget with cost balance and risk.
• Ability to translate market requirements into maintenance and availability plans.
• Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory and asset-management practices.
• Experience with multi-site or distributed operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, reliable operation, engineering and maintenance of the fleet.
• Develop fleet-readiness plans aligning with seasonal outage windows and market needs.
• Own technical integrity, engineering standards and risk management.
• Define fleet maintenance strategy balancing internal and contractor support.
• Drive asset reliability through proactive planning and condition monitoring.
• Hold accountability for organizational capability and succession planning.
• Manage annual O&M budget and approve expenditures.
• Hold OEMs and LTSA partners to account for safety and performance.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE, regulatory and incident-response requirements.
• Lead incident response, recovery and business continuity actions.
