Switch Technical Recruitment Limited seeks an Embedded Energy Regional Operations Manager to lead a regional portfolio of contracts within the Embedded Energy business. You will shape the O&M discipline, drive safety, compliance and customer-focused service, and report on performance to senior leadership.

The role requires a technical engineering background, strong leadership, and a track record of managing complex sites and contractor teams across multiple sites in the UK.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in operation & maintenance of utility plant including generation equipment.
  • Project engineering experience.
  • Strong leadership to balance financial, technical and people priorities.
  • Commercially focused to drive profitability and growth.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Flexible and proactive approach, both personally and by influencing others.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an efficient regional organisational structure in line with business needs.
  • Monitor KPIs to improve efficiency, service quality and profitability.
  • Minimise OCPs by driving performance and contractor management.
  • Ensure compliance, asset management and maintenance per CMMS and contract deliverables.
  • Provide site teams with direction for data and reports in electronic document management systems.
  • Drive operational excellence and deliver high-quality O&M solutions.
  • Refine business processes to enhance productivity, safety and compliance.
  • Oversee contract management and project delivery with safety and environmental adherence.
  • Ensure timely, accurate performance reports for senior leaders and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations and safety standards across sites.
  • Monitor budgets, costs, revenue forecasting and financial planning.
  • Champion customer-centric service and client retention.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, industry bodies and authorities.

Embedded Energy Regional Operations Manager
Overview

With a rich history of excellence in designing, constructing, and maintaining buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide, we are now offering exciting new opportunity for a Regional Operations Manager from a technical engineering background to support our Embedded Energy business. Embedded Energy operates multiple customer sites with large-scale embedded energy capacity across the UK, providing specialist management of onsite generation for industrial processes and the ability to export to the Grid. We combine multiple technologies to meet our customers' specific needs, and provide design, build, operate and maintenance services. Our skills and expertise can help industrial businesses to achieve their carbon reduction goals. We are experts in many technologies, including combined heat and power (CHP), biomass, and energy from waste. By locating generation on customers' sites we provide our customers with industry leading safety management, reduced energy costs and carbon footprint and assured energy security for their operational needs.

Job overview

Reporting to the Business Director for Embedded Energy, the Regional Operations Manager shall be responsible for the performance of a region comprising of a number of contracts. The principal objectives of the role is to create and deliver the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) discipline and strategic direction in line with business plan targets, compliance, health, environment, safety and quality delivering best practice and to industry standards.

Key activities
  • As part of the SLT develop an efficient organisational structure in line with business needs.
  • Monitor & manage KPIs to measure and improve efficiency, service quality, and profitability.
  • Minimise OCPs by driving performance & contractor management
  • Ensure the delivery of high standards of compliance, accurate asset management & maintenance in line with CMMS & contract deliverables
  • Provide Site teams with direction to ensure Contract data and reports are compiled to the required standard, are retained and managed in a suitable electronic document management system or equivalent
  • Drive operational excellence, ensuring the delivery of high-quality O&M solutions that meet industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Monitor & refine business processes to enhance productivity, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee contract management, ensuring effective project delivery and adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure all performance reports for the region are completed timely and with accuracy for both senior leaders & client reporting
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, legal requirements, industry regulations, and safety standards across all sites.
  • Monitor financial budgets, ensuring effective cost control, revenue forecasting, and financial planning to meet business objectives
  • Champion a customer-centric culture, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention through exceptional service delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, industry bodies, and government authorities.
