Job summary

Casanovas Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Head of Plumbing & Heating for a leading further education provider in Suffolk. The role leads the Plumbing & Heating curriculum across Entry Level to Level 3, apprenticeships and adult learning, while steering a high-performing team and developing strong employer partnerships.

You will oversee teaching, assessment and quality processes, ensure compliance with awarding bodies, and drive learner outcomes across campuses with on-site responsibilities

Qualifications

• Professional Plumbing & Heating experience
• Experience teaching, training, assessing or coaching
• Curriculum management experience with leading teams
• Experience with apprenticeships and adult learning
• Understanding of teaching, learning and assessment
• Knowledge of Plumbing & Heating industry standards and current trends
• Experience managing learner performance (attendance, progress, achievement)
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong planning and time-management abilities
• Experience using data to inform decisions and drive improvement
• Budget and change management experience
• Solution-focused, decisive leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Plumbing & Heating curriculum across Entry Level to Level 3, apprenticeships and adult programmes
• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team including recruitment and performance reviews
• Oversee learner progress, attendance, achievement and overall experience
• Manage assessment, internal and external verification processes for awarding bodies
• Ensure staff training and professional registrations remain up to date
• Build relationships with employers, industry partners and professional bodies
• Identify opportunities to expand curriculum provision and commercial training
• Monitor curriculum performance and learner data to drive improvements
• Plan curriculum delivery, timetabling and daily operations
• Contribute to self-assessment and quality improvement cycles
• Manage budgets and commercial activity within the curriculum area
• Ensure workshops are safe, compliant and industry-relevant
• Support promotional activities and engagement events
• Collaborate with internal teams to support apprenticeships completion
• Maintain relationships with awarding organisations and external partners
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety compliance across the area
• Contribute to Directorate strategy and direction
• Undertake teaching across Plumbing & Heating programmes
