The Harborne Hospital, part of HCA UK, is seeking a Head of Pharmacy to lead our hospital Pharmacy service at The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham. You will oversee safe, effective medication management, drive governance and quality initiatives, and manage a high-performing team in a leading private healthcare network.

Requirements include GPhC registration, 5+ years hospital pharmacy experience, proven leadership, and strong communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Minimum of 5 years’ hospital pharmacy experience.
• Proven leadership experience with responsibility for people, projects, and financial management.
• Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Pharmacy service across the hospital.
• Oversee departmental budgets, stock control, and revenue capture.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and quality initiatives.
• Manage, mentor and develop pharmacy staff, including recruitment and training.
• Drive clinical governance, audit and risk management activities, including relevant committees chairing.
