Job summary

T & G Engineering, a long‑established precision subcontract machining company in West Byfleet, is seeking a Head of Operations. You will lead production and support teams, drive safety, quality and on-time delivery, and implement continuous improvement across the site.

You will manage scheduling, process improvements and ERP/MRP utilization to optimise productivity while maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.

T & G Engineering was founded in 1975 and has become one of Europe’s foremost high precision subcontract machining companies serving and supporting worldwide customers in Can Tooling and special purpose machinery sectors, Aerospace, Automotive, Pharmaceutical and Medical.

Our modern air-conditioned subcontract CNC machining facility is based in West Byfleet Surrey. The latest machinery and equipment in harness with a highly skilled workforce gives us the ability to supply challenging, complex components and difficult to make CNC machined parts and products with extremely close tolerances, improving product performance.

Our specialist area is in the subcontract machining of complex components and assembly parts used for demanding applications and within harsh environments. Technical knowledge and flexibility have allowed T & G Engineering to penetrate various market sectors. Job Summary: -

We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Operations to lead our manufacturing operations at T&G Engineering. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for ensuring production activities are carried out safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You will lead, motivate and develop the production and supporting teams whilst driving continuous improvement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, on time delivery and cost performance.

This is newly created role within the company giving an excellent opportunity for a strong manufacturing leader who is passionate about developing people, improving processes and creating a culture of high performance and engagement.

Key Responsibilities: -

• Lead and develop managers, supervisors and office staff to create a smooth-running operation.
• Lead, motivate and manage the shop floor team on a day-to-day basis.
• Ensure production schedules are met and customer delivery deadlines are achieved.
• Working with managers, supervisors and production support staff on process improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement to the use of our ERP system (Progress Plus).
• Ensuring compliance with all health & safety, environmental, legal and operational standards.
• Manage operational analysis, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies.
• Championing innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement throughout the business.

Requirements: -
