Job summary

Telent Technology Services Ltd in London seeks a Head of Operations to lead the night-time London Underground activities, delivering strategic and operational leadership across planned and reactive maintenance for long-term fire and communications contracts.

This is a dedicated night-shift role (Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm-6:00am) requiring on-site presence at our Pirin Court office. You will drive performance, safety and service quality, with escalation through to resolution.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading multi-disciplined teams on-site in a technology/services environment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a data-driven mindset.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification or equivalent health and safety training.
  • Experience managing SLA and contractual performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the performance of night-time operational teams through managers to ensure accountability and delivery.
  • Ensure delivery meets contractual, quality, HSE requirements and operational standards.
  • Monitor performance against SLAs and KPIs; identify issues and improve delivery and response times.
  • Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement using data and performance reporting.
  • Optimise deployment of the workforce while maintaining safety and fatigue management.
  • Provide senior operational oversight during the night shift and escalate to resolution.

Reporting to the Account Director, the Head of Operations will lead our London Underground night-time operations, providing strategic and operational leadership across Planned and Reactive Maintenance for long-term Fire and Communications contracts, as well as Minor, Intermediate and major installation projects.

This is a dedicated night-shift role (Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm-6:00am) requiring on-site presence at our Pirin Court office throughout the shift.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead and drive the performance of the night-time operational teams, working through the relevant managers to ensure clear accountability, effective delivery and consistent performance.
  • Ensure operational delivery meets contractual, quality, health and safety requirements, with particular focus on compliance, safe systems of work and agreed operational standards.
  • Monitor operational performance against SLAs, KPIs and work-bank requirements, identifying issues proactively and taking action to improve delivery and response times.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and continuous improvement, using data and performance reporting to identify trends, reduce rework and improve the effectiveness of the night-time operation.
  • Optimise the deployment and utilisation of the operational workforce, ensuring resources are effectively managed while maintaining appropriate working time, fatigue and safety requirements.
  • Provide senior operational oversight and escalation during the night shift, ensuring priority incidents are quickly identified, appropriately managed and escalated, with clear ownership through to resolution.
Who you are:

You’re an experienced operational leader with a proven track record of managing large teams, driving performance and delivering continuous improvement. You’re proactive, data-driven and confident holding managers accountable in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Requirements:
  • Demonstrable relevant work place experience of managing multi-disciplined teams to deliver projects/tasks on a designated site(s), preferably in a Technology Services environment.
