Job summary

Places Leisure, part of Places for People, is seeking a Head of Operational Optimisation to drive data-led resource management and cost efficiency across multiple sites. You will enhance labour planning, scheduling and forecasting, ensuring the right people and resources are in the right place to meet operational and commercial targets.

The role involves travel to Leisure sites 2–3 days a week and close collaboration with Finance and senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in labour planning, workforce management and cost transformation within a multi-site organisation.
• Proven ability to forecast operational demand and translate it into practical labour plans, hours and costs.
• Experience analysing labour and non-labour P&L performance and driving action plans.
• Practical experience using DILO and time-and-motion studies to assess activity, capacity and efficiency.
• Advanced skills in Excel and Power BI for modelling and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of smarter, data-led ways of managing resources and operating costs across Places Leisure.
• Improve labour planning, scheduling and forecasting to ensure the right colleagues and resources are in place.
• Collaborate with operational leaders, Finance and central teams to identify efficiencies and reduce spend.
• Create robust cost models and support investment decisions with payback analyses.
• Support refits, bids and growth opportunities with practical plans.
