Job summary

Birch Wood School in Melton Mowbray is seeking a Head of Birchwood College to provide visible, strategic and operational leadership across three sites for learners aged 11-19 with SEND. You will translate priorities into practice, ensuring high-quality teaching, safeguarding and a stimulating curriculum.

You will collaborate with the Executive Headteacher to drive excellence in teaching and learning, strengthen community partnerships and sustain a supportive, inclusive school culture.

Qualifications

• An experienced and inspirational leader with a passion for SEND.
• Highly effective at overseeing operational day-to-day running of a busy school, including staffing, attendance and HR processes.
• Confident in coordinating practice across multiple sites to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead with visible, strategic leadership across three sites.
• Drive teaching and learning to enable GCSEs, Entry Levels and meaningful qualifications.
• Champion safeguarding, wellbeing and effective behaviour management.
