Job summary

HelloKindred in the United Kingdom is seeking a Head of Middleware Platform to lead security, strategy and performance of middleware across a complex tech environment. You will define secure baselines, drive compliance and remediation, and align middleware with business goals, regulations, tech advancement and evolving threats.

Work closely with architecture, security teams and service owners to prioritise investments, manage backlogs and deliver improvements while mentoring the technical team

Qualifications

• Proven middleware security and secure configuration management experience.
• 2+ years leading a technical team with delegation and development.
• Strong CIS benchmarks knowledge and security fundamentals.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business-friendly communication.
• Customer-focused consultancy approach with practical guidance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for security issues.
• Resilient and adaptable to changing priorities and threats.
• Experience collaborating with architecture, control and service owners.

Responsibilities

• Define secure configuration baselines with SMEs.
• Develop and implement configuration compliance checks.
• Provide remediation guidance to IT Service Owners.
• Ensure configuration compliance data is collected and managed.
• Engage stakeholders to understand security needs and priorities.
• Define middleware capability strategy with EA and Security Architecture.
• Align strategy with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
• Deliver through delivery partners in line with supporting functions.
• Prioritise backlog based on objectives and value.
• Monitor capability performance using agreed metrics.
• Oversee Control Owner activity from a technical perspective.
• Collaborate with Service Owners on performance and uplift roadmaps.
• Assist with technology health and debt resolution.
• Lead and empower the technical team.
• Translate complex requirements into business-focused recommendations.
• Drive continual improvement across middleware security and practices.
