Our client, a leading Trade Association based in Southwark, Central London, is seeking a Head of Membership Engagement to join their team.

The Role of Head of Membership Engagement

Reporting to the Executive Director, the postholder will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies for membership engagement, recruitment, and retention to ensure the organisation continues to:

• Deliver excellent support to members
• Ensure retention of current members
• Increase recruitment of new members

Responsibilities include:

• Review and enhance current membership engagement, recruitment, and retention strategies
• Build and maintain relationships with members at a senior level
• Identify prospective companies for membership
• Implement a membership growth strategy targeting UK-wide prospects
• Engage with existing and potential members at CEO/executive level
• Communicate membership benefits effectively
• Handle queries from potential members
• Develop processes and systems to improve member experience
• Create feedback mechanisms and build cross-functional relationships
• Design and execute an annual Membership Survey
• Manage membership applications and renewals, collaborating with the Finance Director on rates
• Oversee meeting logistics and record minutes
• Promote activities through website, communications, and resources

Person Specification – Knowledge and Experience

• Significant experience in growing membership and managing membership services in similar organisations
• Experience in administrative process improvement
• Strategic planning and business development skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at CEO/executive level
• Experience managing CRM databases

The role requires good networking and teamwork skills, with attendance at events across England and Wales. While primarily based in London, travel is expected.
