Job summary

Francis Holland School invites applications for an inspirational Head of Mathematics to commence in September 2027. The post seeks a reflective leader who can support and develop others, lead by example and shape Mathematics across the school.

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics from Year 7 to Year 13, develop a challenging curriculum, maintain high standards, monitor pupil progress, and contribute to co-curricular mathematics activities such as Maths Team Challenges and Maths

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead a mathematics department
• Strong understanding of mathematics pedagogy and curriculum development
• Experience developing and monitoring student attainment in mathematics

Responsibilities

• To lead, manage and inspire the Mathematics Department
• Act as a role model for the teaching of Mathematics throughout the school
• Develop a stimulating, robust and intellectually challenging curriculum for Mathematics
• Ensure that the teaching & learning within the Department is of the highest standard
• Promote Mathematics within the school
• Monitor pupil progress data closely, implementing intervention strategies to boost attainment
• To produce an annual Department Development Plan in collaboration with the Department which encompasses school values
