Job description

US

The Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a disused bus garage in a forgotten corner of South London. It was the first nightclub in the UK to have a 24-hour licence, didn’t serve alcohol and featured an earth-shaking sound system in a specially constructed dance box.

We went on to become the world’s largest independent record company, now with Sony, and stage giant dance events, including one for 50,000 people at the o2. We were pioneers in electronic music and have a history of taking risks, innovation, and colourful and creative marketing.

Thirty years later we opened The Ministry, a workspace run as a member’s club, in a 50,000 sq. ft Victorian warehouse in SE1. The design is relaxed but functional with a bar, opening windows, an outside courtyard and plenty of space to sit, relax, work and socialise – everything you wouldn’t expect to find in a standard office. There’s great home cooked F&B, a state-of-the-art gym and fitness studio with daily classes, together with a cultural and business events programme.

As a business we don’t take ourselves too seriously, like to laugh and have fun, but we have high standards, a relentless attention to detail and the continuous improvement of our product, and we work hard as a team. We hate cliché, doing things the way others do and continuously seek to differentiate our brands and products almost as a point of pride.

YOU

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Marketing at Ministry of Sound.

You will be the mastermind behind the development and execution of innovative, audience-first marketing campaigns that would span across the Ministry's portfolio of club events, digital platforms, and brand experiences.

You will lead on the creation of integrated, cross-channel marketing strategies. These strategies will be designed to align with commercial goals, driving ticket sales, audience growth, and enhancing brand equity.

You will be used to planning and executing campaigns across social media, digital platforms, email, content, partnerships, and traditional media.

You will shape and evolve the brand identity, ensuring it resonated across all consumer touch-points and channels. Working closely with programming, commercial, and creative teams, you will bring these campaigns to life, overseeing full marketing efforts including paid social, search, programmatic, out-of-home (OOH) advertising, and activations.

Collaborating with the digital ads agency, you will adopt a data-led, test-and-learn approach to media planning and campaigns, leading the CRM marketing strategy and optimizing the website to drive ticket sales.

Content and brand development will be at the heart of your role. You will develop relevant content strategies across organic and paid media, managing social and content teams to deliver high-impact storytelling and brand campaigns.

You would also work with PR agencies to amplify campaign reach and brand voice through influencer and editorial initiatives. By leading the marketing and creative team, you will ensure alignment with business priorities, setting clear KPIs and establishing agile workflows to deliver work at pace and scale.

You will oversee sprint planning, task allocation, and project reporting across internal teams and freelancers, fostering a positive, creative, and performance-driven team culture.

Budget management will be crucial. You will own and manage marketing budgets, ensuring efficient spend and strong ROI across all channels.

You will monitor and report on campaign performance, providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders, and aligning marketing strategy with sales targets and business performance goals.

You will need to stay ahead of cultural, digital, and consumer trends, ensuring Ministry of Sound remains a cultural leader.

You will identify new opportunities across platforms, technologies, and partnerships, using all available data to drive growth.

You will always push the boundaries of what is possible.
