Job summary

National Highways seeks a strategic Head of Asset Management (Managed Estate) to lead the non-occupied land and property portfolio, ensuring value, risk management and regulatory compliance. You’ll steer strategy across estates, drive governance, and oversee major disposals with external partners, reporting into the Estates & Facilities leadership.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Surveyor (RICS) with proven experience in property management or estates leadership.
• Experience managing complex property portfolios, disposals, landlord and tenant matters, valuations, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and management of the managed estate to maximise value and balance commercial performance.
• Ensure estate remains safe, compliant and well governed under statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee disposal of property no longer required, including governance and transaction management.
• Oversee contract management of large external suppliers to maintain service and value for money.
• Provide expert advice on leases, wayleaves, easements, landlord and tenant issues, acquisitions and disposals.
• Collaborate across Estates & Facilities leadership to drive continuous improvement and best practice.
