Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Head of Asset Management (Managed Estate) to lead the strategy and management of the non-occupied estate, ensuring land held for future schemes and property no longer required is managed strategically, safely and efficiently.

You will be part of the Estates & Facilities Leadership Team, driving an integrated, commercially focused approach to land and property management that delivers value and enables long-term business success.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Surveyor (RICS) with proven property leadership experience.
• Experience managing large property portfolios and disposals.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Ability to lead high-performing teams and manage external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and management of the non-occupied estate.
• Ensure safety, compliance and governance of the estate.
• Oversee property disposals and vendor contracts.
• Provide expert advice on leases, wayleaves and acquisitions.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across Estates & Facilities.
