Job summary

Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) seeks a Head of IT and DevOps to drive the evolution of its global technology estate. This senior leadership role combines enterprise IT, modern DevOps, and cloud transformation.

You will define and deliver technology strategy, modernise infrastructure, mature DevOps practices, and embed AI as a core enabler across the team.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience (C-suite -1 level) across IT, DevOps, and Cloud.
• Experience leading large-scale cloud migrations and multi-cloud environments.
• Deep expertise in CI/CD, automation and cloud-native architectures.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps with experience migrating to GitHub.
• Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, Terraform).
• Background in Windows, Microsoft 365, and Linux administration, containerisation and orchestration.
• Experience leading cyber security, risk management and compliance (ISO standards).
• Experience establishing AI platforms, data engineering foundations and AI tooling at scale.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.

Responsibilities

• Embed DevOps best practices across engineering, championing automation, CI/CD and cloud-native delivery.
• Oversee infrastructure, cloud, network architecture and platform strategy.
• Embed cyber security, risk management and secure-by-design principles across all services.
• Coordinate ISO 27001 recertification and cross-department inputs.

The Role

You will define and deliver technology strategy, modernise infrastructure and platforms, mature DevOps practices, and embed AI as a core enabler across theteam.

The role will play a critical part in transitioning IES away from traditional on-premises infrastructure,establishinga fully cloud-based,secureand scalable environment. You willsupportour ambition to become an AI-first organisationand will lead the effort to achieve that ambition within your own team

What You’ll Do

• Define and deliver an integrated IT and DevOps strategy aligned with IES’s business goals
• Lead global IT operations across ITSM, service desk, resilience, disasterrecoveryand monitoring
• Build and lead high-performing teams across IT,DevOpsand Cloud

• Lead the move from legacy data centres to a secure, scalable multi-cloud environment

• Oversee infrastructure, cloud, networkarchitectureand platform strategy
• Embed cyber security, riskmanagementand secure-by-design principles across all services
• Manage compliance and audit activity, including ISO 27001 recertification, coordinating inputs and actions across multiple departments company-wide
• Partner with Product, Engineering and senior leadership to shape and deliver technology direction

Skills & Experience

• Senior leadership experience (C-suite -1 level) across IT, DevOps, and Cloud
• Strong experience leading large-scale cloud migrations and operating multi-cloud environments
• Deep expertise in DevOps practices including CI/CD, infrastructure automation and cloud-native architectures
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps with experience migrating to GitHub
• Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, Terraform)
• Solid background in Windows, Microsoft 365, and Linux administration, containerisation and orchestration technologies
• Proven experience leading cyber security, risk management and compliance (including ISO standards and Cyber Essentials Plus)
• Experience establishing and governing AI platforms, data engineering foundations and AI tooling at scale
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels

Nice to Have

• Experience operating in highly regulated or security-conscious environments
• Exposure to AI observability, explainability and responsible AI tooling
• Experience supporting predominantly remote or hybrid workforces at scale
• Background working within software, technology or climate tech organisations
