Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking an experienced Systems Development Manager / Engineering Lead for a Hybrid/Remote role in the UK. You will combine hands-on software engineering with team leadership, providing technical direction and ownership of delivery for our SaaS platforms.

You will lead a 6-person team, drive architectural decisions, collaboration with stakeholders, and ensure high-quality software delivery across applications and services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading or managing software engineering teams.
• Hands-on development experience with C# / .NET.
• Experience with modern cloud technologies, ideally Azure.
• Understanding of software architecture, APIs and scalable systems.
• Experience delivering projects within Agile environments.
• Strong communication with stakeholders.
• Desirable: CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a team of software engineers, encouraging best practice and continuous improvement.
• Software development - contribute to code quality, architectural decisions, integrations, technical reviews and solution design.

We are looking for an experienced Systems Development Manager to join an ambitious and successful SaaS tech business.

This role combines hands‑on software engineering with team leadership, technical direction and delivery ownership.

You will lead and support a 6-person team (3 developers, 3 support engineers), helping to improve engineering practices, remove technical blockers and ensure high-quality delivery of software solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to shape priorities, manage technical decisions and deliver projects that support business objectives.

Key responsibilities:
