Job summary

Total Waste Recruitment in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Head of HR to lead the people function for a growing waste management business. You will provide both strategic and hands-on HR leadership across multiple sites, travelling as required to sites in the North of England and Midlands. CIPD Level 7 is essential and a UK driving licence is required to support travel across locations.

Qualifications

• Head of HR or equivalent with strategic and operational HR leadership.
• Experience in waste/recycling, environmental services, or similar sectors.
• Strong UK employment law and employee relations expertise.
• Willingness to travel across sites in the North of England and Midlands.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the HR and people strategy aligned to business growth.
• Advise senior leaders and managers on commercial HR matters.
• Lead HR policies, processes and employment-law compliance.
• Manage employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance issues.
• Lead recruitment, retention, succession planning and talent management.
• Coach and develop managers and leaders.
• Improve performance management, engagement, culture and wellbeing initiatives.
• Support organisational change, restructuring and business growth.
• Oversee payroll and HR administration.
• Build strong relationships with employees and managers across multiple sites.
• Ability to integrate new employees following acquisitions.
