Job summary

Walsall Council is seeking an experienced manager to lead the Highways Development Control & Public Rights of Way team. You will drive the delivery of highway schemes, manage customer enquiries and guide development planning processes within the Highways & Transport Service.

You will work with developers, consultants and internal teams to ensure highway infrastructure for new developments is designed and delivered to the Council's standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading teams in highway-related development.
• Knowledge of highway development control processes.
• Experience working with public rights of way and street naming/numbering.
• Experience engaging with developers, consultants and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Highway Development Control and Public Rights of Way functions.
• Oversee naming and numbering of streets and resolution of highway boundary disputes.
• Respond to customer enquiries and service requests in a timely manner.
• Represent the Council at meetings and partnerships; negotiate legal agreements with developers.
• Manage delivery of highway schemes and adoption of highways within the borough.
