Job summary

Walsall Council is seeking an experienced Development Control & Public Rights of Way Manager to lead the Highways & Transport Service. The role focuses on delivery of highway development control, public rights of way, naming and numbering of streets and resolving boundary disputes.

You will manage a team, engage with developers, consultants and internal teams to ensure highways are designed, approved and delivered to Council standards, and you will represent the Council at planning committees

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in team management within highways or transport-related services.
• Experience with development control, public rights of way, or highway schemes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Development Control and Public Rights of Way functions within the Highways & Transport Service.
• Oversee highway development control, public rights of way, and naming and numbering of streets.
• Resolve highway boundary disputes and respond to customer enquiries and service requests promptly.
• Represent the Council at internal and external meetings, groups and partnerships; engage with Elected Members and senior officers.
