Job summary

Public Service Ombudsman is seeking a senior policy professional to improve health services in England. You will lead a four-person team, gather insights from complaints, and translate findings into strategic policy recommendations.

Collaboration with external organisations and internal teams will shape system-wide improvements. You will engage senior stakeholders, develop clear reports and briefings, and influence decisions across the health system.

Qualifications

• Excellent policy analysis skills with ability to test assumptions, interpret evidence and advise options.
• Develop and influence policy at senior level, producing clear reports, briefings and recommendations.
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders across organisational boundaries, including sensitive issues.
• Lead, support and develop others, building an inclusive, high-performing team culture.

Responsibilities

• Improve health services in England by turning complaint insights into policy recommendations.
• Lead a team of four, build relationships with external organisations and collaborate with communications and data teams.
• Influence change across the health system using the Ombudsman’s data and insights.
• Support systemic investigations and ensure stakeholder engagement informs policy.
