Head of Fundraising
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who wants to play a key role at a senior level in an ambitious and growing charity.The successful applicant will need to have the drive and determination to develop the long-term fundraising strategy whilst nurturing and growing income from current and new supporters.They will join a highly-committed and passionate team of 30 staff, leading a team of five and will work closely with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees.
Location: Hybrid between Central London (W1) and remote working (minimum 1 day in the office per fortnight).
Working Hours: Full time (37.5 hrs/week).Part time considered (minimum 0.7FTE). Flexible working fully supported
Salary: In region of £55,000 FTE, depending on experience. Group Pension Scheme (7% employer contribution).
Holiday: 27 days (pro rata) plus Bank Holidays and 1 privilege day

Key competencies and behaviours
People skills:Has excellent networking skills with a range of stakeholders; strong presentation skills; excellent listening skills and the ability to think creatively and quickly to make a convincing case for support; positive and polite friendly manner; able to remain calm under pressure; work well in a team; demonstrates good emotional intelligence and is proactive and persuasive.
Writing skills:Can write clearly, concisely and persuasively to a wide range of audiences.
Strategic thinking:Ability to identify new fundraising initiatives, assess likelihood of success and impact on resources, develop appealing ‘asks’ and match donor interests to funding needs/projects and contribute to the long term direction of the charity as part of the Senior Management Team.
Management skills:Ability to coach and develop others, direct workload, manage performance towards objectives, demonstrate strong leadership.
Accuracy and attention to detail:Skilled in research, proofreading, report completion; able to keep accurate records and compile accurate and timely monitoring and evaluation reports; confident preparing income and expenditure budgets for projects.
Organisational skills:Excellent time management skills; able to juggle a varied personal/team workload; able to master a brief quickly and to analyse/prioritise research information; self-motivated, flexible regarding hours.
Professional Knowledge and Experience
These responsibilities are not exhaustive and will be reviewed, in consultation with the post-holder, from time-to-time and amended in light of the changing needs of the charity and experience and development of the post-holder.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends.
There will be a probationary period of six months from the start of employment with an initial review after three months.
