Job summary

Harrow College seeks a dynamic Head of School for Foundation to provide strategic and operational leadership for learners with mild to complex needs. You will lead curriculum and support staff across both full-time and part-time programmes, driving excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.

You will oversee curriculum planning, development and QA, ensuring alignment with SEND reforms and Preparing for Adulthood, and foster strong external partnerships to support progression for high-need

Qualifications

• Must hold minimum Level 3 teaching qualification with a full teaching qualification (Level 5) recognised by the FE sector.
• Experience leading High Needs teams within FE and improving teaching, learning and assessment.
• Experience developing SEND teaching and QA within FE frameworks.
• Ability to innovate curriculum management to meet industry needs in SEND/High Needs.
• Skilled practitioner in teaching and learning with strategies to improve attendance and retention.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for learners with mild to complex needs for Harrow College.
• Lead and inspire curriculum and support staff across full-time and part-time programmes.
• Oversee curriculum planning, development and quality assurance, including qualification changes.
• Align programmes with local skills priorities, national SEND reforms, and Preparing for Adulthood.
• Strengthen transition links with stakeholders to ensure smooth progression for high-need learners.
