Job summary

Vertical Aerospace in the United Kingdom seeks a Head of Flight Test to lead the flight test function across all programmes, ensuring safety, regulatory alignment and data integrity.

You will define strategy, manage a multi-disciplinary team of test directors, engineers and pilots, and partner with design, airworthiness and certification to deliver envelope expansion and certification milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline and registration where applicable.
• Graduate of a recognised Test Pilot School or equivalent experimental flight test experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall flight test strategy across all aircraft programmes.
• Govern safety case, risk management and ALARP for test activities.
• Plan long-term flight test capability, staffing and facilities.
• Coordinate post-mission data reviews and anomaly resolution.
• Oversee regulatory interfaces and certification activities.
