Job summary

THG is seeking a Head of Financial Reporting to lead the Group's financial reporting, audit and governance activities from its Manchester HQ. You will oversee IFRS financial statements, coordinate the annual audit, manage a small team and partner with finance, tax and legal stakeholders across THG’s global divisions.

The role requires a qualified accountant with 5+ years post-qualification experience, strong IFRS technical skills and proven ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with 5+ years post qualified experience
• Strong IFRS technical accounting experience
• Experience working with large corporate and/or listed businesses preferred
• Strong communication skills across stakeholders
• Keen to build strong networks across the business
• Understanding of financial controls framework and process best practice
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent planning and organisational skills; able to meet deadlines
• Confident mindset with ability to engage senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Head up Group-wide compliance responsibilities, project planning and managing a team
• Prepare technical management papers documenting accounting decisions for Board/Audit Committee
• Be the key contact for auditors, lead THG Group audit and reporting requirements
• Own relationships with specialist advisors
• Review and deliver high quality IFRS-compliant financial statements
• Involve in one-off projects throughout the year
• Challenge the status quo on controls and implement improvements
• Lead the implementation of technology solutions to automate processes
• Direct and mentor junior team members
• Build strong networks across the business, liaising with divisional FP&A, legal and tax teams
• Report to Group CFO and Deputy CFO regularly on key issues
