Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with an industrial business in Doncaster to appoint a Head of Financial Reporting & Control. The role owns monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, ensuring accurate management accounts and timely group reporting, while supervising a small finance team.

You will drive the year-end process, manage statutory accounts and audits, and partake in system transformation to enable automation and efficiency improvements across finance operations.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA or CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Proven track record with month-end and year-end closures.
• Experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Manufacturing/industrial sector experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Produce and review accurate management accounts and Group reporting submissions.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure strong financial controls.
• Own and continually develop the financial control framework.
• Manage the external audit process and statutory accounts preparation.
• Support UK tax and statutory compliance requirements.
• Lead and develop the Finance Manager and Management Accountant.
• Provide oversight across purchase ledger, sales ledger and cash management.
• Identify opportunities to improve ERP, automation and reporting.
• Drive standardisation and efficiency across finance processes.

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working exclusively and on a retained basis with an industrial business in Doncaster as they look for a new Head of Financial Reporting & Control to take ownership of financial reporting, oversee a small team in finance and manage the day-to-day finance operations. The company is very well established and part of a £100 Million t/o group.

As Head of Financial Reporting & Control, you'll take ownership of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles, ensuring the production of accurate management accounts and timely Group reporting. You will also have responsibility for the company's statutory reporting and audit process, working closely with Group Finance as well as senior operational stakeholders. The firm is going through a period of system transformation to streamline the department so there will be plenty of opportunity to get involved with identifying new opportunities and implementing automation.

Please note this roles will be office based 5 days a week

Duties will be varied and will include:

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Produce and review accurate management accounts and Group reporting submissions.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure strong financial controls.
• Own and continually develop the financial control framework.
• Manage the external audit process and coordinate statutory accounts preparation.
• Support UK tax and statutory compliance requirements.
• Lead and develop the Finance Manager and Management Accountant.
• Provide oversight across purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and transactional finance.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, automation and reporting.
• Drive standardisation and efficiency across finance processes.
• Support wider finance transformation and ERP development projects.
• Act as a key finance partner to operational management and senior stakeholders.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experiences:

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (Qualified by Experience)
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience
• Proven track record across month-end and year-end
• Staff management experience
• Commercially minded
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confidence to build relationships across the wider business
• Strong ERP experience and a genuine interest in process improvement and automation
• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment would be advantageous
