Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a Finance Manager in Doncaster to lead financial reporting and the control environment within an established industrial business. You will report directly to the Financial Controller and oversee the day-to-day management of the operational finance team.

• Own month-end close process and ensure management accounts delivered on time.
• Prepare and review group reporting submissions.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain balance sheet integrity.
• Own financial control framework and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
• Identify and manage financial reporting risks.
• Manage external audits and coordinate statutory accounts preparation.
• Support tax compliance and wider statutory requirements.
• Lead and develop a finance team (Finance Manager and Management Accountant).
• Provide oversight across wider transactional finance function.
• Manage workloads, resources and team development.
• Lead improvements to ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Improve automation, data quality and reporting processes.
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce manual processes across finance.

Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a successful and established industrial business as they look to appoint a new Finance Manager into the team to support the Financial Controller.

This is a key role within the finance function, reporting directly to the Financial Controller and taking responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the operational finance team. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting, while strengthening controls and driving improvements across the finance function.

You will take ownership of the financial reporting and control environment, ensuring the business has robust processes and reliable financial information to support decision-making.

Hours are 9am - 5pm with flexibility (Office based)

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycles.

The role would suit a qualified accountant who has strong technical and financial reporting experience who enjoys leading a team and improving processes.

You will ideally have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong financial reporting and technical accounting experience.
• Extensive month-end and year-end reporting experience.
• Experience managing statutory audits.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and balance sheet integrity.
• Previous experience managing and developing finance professionals.
• Strong ERP and financial systems experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• The confidence to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to identifying and delivering process improvements.
• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment would be advantageous.
