What we’re looking for…

As our Head of Financial Control & Treasury, you will safeguard our balance sheet and modernise our financial engine as a key operational leader. Balancing rock-solid governance with operational agility, you will take command of Group liquidity, establish a best-in-class internal control framework, and champion digital automation across our end-to-end transactional services. Reporting directly to the Corporate Finance Director and partnering with EXCO and the Audit & Risk Committee, you will inspire a high-performing, multi-site team of 20 to drive scalable, technology-led finance operations across the business.

Your responsibilities will include…
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team: Direct, coach, and motivate a multi-site team of circa 20 across Order-to-Cash, Purchase-to-Pay, Financial Control & Treasury.
  • Govern financial controls & compliance: Establish, monitor, and report on robust internal controls across all financial operations, presenting findings to EXCO and the Audit & Risk Committee.
  • Direct Group treasury & liquidity: Oversee multi-currency cash flows, short-term forecasting, banking relationships, and covenant management, while leading the Group’s Treasury & Commodity Committee.
  • Drive digital modernisation & automation: Champion the adoption of automation and ERP enhancements across transactional finance to eliminate manual touchpoints and accelerate reporting cycles.
  • Optimise Order to Cash (O2C): Balance commercial revenue growth with disciplined credit risk management, debtor day reduction, and the mitigation of bad debt.
  • Safeguard Purchase to Pay (P2P): Ensure accurate, governed supplier payments to protect the inward supply chain while maintaining working capital integrity.
  • Oversee business partner services: Provide strategic financial governance over corporate services, including company car fleet management, business insurances, and property rates.
What you’ll bring...

The successful candidate will have;

  • Full professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with at least 5 years of practical post-qualification finance experience.
  • Proven track record of leading, managing, and developing large, multi-disciplinary finance teams operating across multiple sites.
  • Deep technical expertise in treasury management, liquidity forecasting, banking covenants, and cash risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing robust internal control environments, anti-fraud measures, and reporting to senior executive committees.
  • Strong commercial credit management and dispute resolution experience, with high-level negotiation and non-finance stakeholder influence skills.
  • Proven capability in driving process transformation, ERP system optimisation, and workflow automation.
And it would also be great if you can demonstrate:
  • Extensive operational finance leadership within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or manufacturing sectors.
  • Hands-on experience leading change management initiatives and implementing modern accounting information systems.
  • A strong foundation in macroeconomic analysis and its strategic application to cash flow and commodity exposures.
