Overview

Are you ready to lead financial strategy at the heart of a purpose-driven organisation? Do you thrive in a values-led environment where innovation, integrity, and impact go hand-in-hand? This is your opportunity to join Freebridge Community Housing as our new Head of Finance & Treasury – a pivotal leadership role where your expertise will shape the financial future of a dynamic housing association committed to making a real difference to people’s lives.

As a senior leader reporting directly to the Chief Finance and Technology Officer, you'll be part of a forward-thinking executive team driving transformation, sustainability, and value for money across our services. You'll lead a talented multi-functional team covering finance, procurement, and treasury, and play a key role in strategic decision-making, investment planning, and stakeholder engagement.

At Freebridge, we believe in empowering our people to lead with purpose. You'll be joining an organisation that values belonging, ownership, innovation, and collaboration – where your voice matters and your impact is felt across our communities. Whether you're looking to step up into a strategic leadership role or bring your seasoned expertise to a new challenge, this is a rare opportunity to influence the future of housing finance in a progressive, customer-first organisation.

What you'll be doing
  • Shape Financial Strategy at the Highest Level: Lead the development and delivery of forward-thinking financial strategies that underpin long-term sustainability, empower growth, and influence executive decision-making across the organisation.
  • Drive Treasury Excellence and Investment Impact: Take ownership of liquidity, funding, and investment strategy—building strong relationships with lenders and investors while ensuring optimal financing and robust risk management.
  • Lead Insightful Financial Planning and Performance: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting with precision and clarity.
  • Champion Governance and Regulatory Confidence: Ensure the highest standards of financial compliance, internal control, and risk management—protecting the organisation's integrity and reputation in a regulated environment.
  • Inspire and Empower High-Performing Teams: Lead and develop a multi-functional team across finance, procurement, and treasury. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement aligned with organisational values.
  • Influence Stakeholders and Drive Value for Money: Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders, translating financial insight into strategic action.
What we're looking for

To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Knowledge & Experience: Extensive senior-level experience in finance and treasury, including leading multi-functional teams, operating in regulated environments, and managing in-house payroll delivery.
  • Skills: A strategic, solutions-focused leader with strong analytical thinking, clear communication skills, and the resilience to thrive in complex, fast-paced settings.
  • Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience, demonstrating high integrity, professionalism, and alignment with organisational values.
What's in it for you?

At Freebridge, we're appreciative of our team and we believe in empowering you to achieve your aspirations and dreams, both in your work and in your life. To help you achieve your goals, we offer a variety of core benefits, including:

  • Generous Holiday Leave: 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service.
  • Exclusive Employee Discounts: Access amazing deals through our Reward Gateway.
  • Comprehensive Leave Policies: 6 months full pay for maternity leave and 2 weeks full pay for paternity leave.
  • Health and Wellbeing Support: Access physio and counselling services, along with an employee assistance programme.
  • Charitable Leave: One day per year to volunteer for a cause you care about.
  • Discounted Gym Membership: Discounted membership at Alive Leisure.
  • Work-life Balance: Early finish on a Friday to kick-start your weekend!
  • Pension Scheme: Company contributory pension scheme with generous employer contributions.
