Head of Finance - strategic, growth focused role

Head of Finance, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey £65,000 - £75,000

An award-winning, privately owned SME in the online retail and product space is entering an exciting phase of international and UK growth. To support this next chapter, the Directors are looking to appoint a dynamic and energetic Head of Finance to help implement improved systems, drive commercial strategy, and lead robust financial processes.

This hands-on leadership role is based full-time in the Kingston upon Thames office, suiting a CIMA-qualified professional with strong management reporting skills, stock control systems expertise, and solid experience in online retail and/or manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Managing Director to support commercial strategy and financial decision-making.
• Lead the implementation of a new accounting system and streamline financial processes.
• Deliver timely management reports, financial forecasts, and insightful analysis to support growth.
• Strengthen internal controls, manage stock systems, and ensure audit readiness.
• Drive operational efficiency.
• Mentor junior staff and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.

About You:

• CIMA qualified (or equivalent) with experience in a similar commercial finance leadership role.
• Experience in retail (especially online) or manufacturing is essential.
• Strong system implementation and process improvement background.
• Skilled in managing stock control systems, management reporting, and financial oversight.
• A natural problem solver, highly energetic, dynamic, and hands-on with a willingness to get involved on the 'shop floor' as necessary.
• Enjoy working in an agile, entrepreneurial SME environment.
