Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage the Homes & Communities Finance Teams, providing strategic financial direction, business partnering, and support to various Council services.
2. Support Transformation & Projects: Provide financial input into transformation programmes and projects, ensuring timely information for decision-making and budget realignment.
3. Budgetary Accountability & Compliance: Support senior management and budget holders in financial responsibilities, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
4. Strategic Financial Planning: Deliver financial leadership and advice to develop robust financial plans aligned with the Council’s Medium-Term Financial Forecast.
5. High-Quality Financial Advice: Provide timely and accurate financial advice to directors and managers, fostering a self-service budget management culture.
6. Financial Modelling & Forecasting: Lead financial modelling for demand-led budgets, ensuring robust forecasting and data-driven decisions.
7. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance: Support statutory accounting and audit processes, and prepare for legislative changes.
8. Internal Collaboration & Development: Collaborate across the Finance Directorate to produce strategic outputs and train staff.
9. External Engagement & Representation: Build relationships with stakeholders to maintain knowledge and improve services.
