Castlefield Recruitment is currently partnered with a London authority that is seeking to recruit a Head of Finance to oversee the Homes & Communities team. This role requires experience in a similar position within Local Government.

• Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage the Homes & Communities Finance Teams, providing strategic financial direction, business partnering, and support to various Council services and Directorates.
• Support Transformation & Projects: Provide financial input into transformation programmes and projects, ensure timely financial information for decision-making, and support budget realignment to meet savings targets.
• Budgetary Accountability & Compliance: Support senior management and budget holders in financial responsibilities and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Offer financial leadership and advice to develop robust financial plans aligned with the Council’s Medium-Term Financial Forecast (MTFF).
• High-Quality Financial Advice: Deliver timely and accurate financial advice to directors and managers, fostering a self-service budget management culture.
• Financial Modelling & Forecasting: Lead demand-led budget modelling, ensure robust forecasting, and support data-driven decisions.
• Statutory & Regulatory Compliance: Support statutory accounting, external audits, and legislative readiness.
• Internal Collaboration & Development: Collaborate across the Finance Directorate and support team training and development.
• External Engagement & Representation: Maintain relationships with stakeholders to promote service improvement.
