Job summary

Hewett Recruitment is seeking a Head of Finance in Worcester to lead the finance function within a growing business. This senior role reports to the Managing Director and offers broad, hands-on responsibility for management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls.

You will develop strategy with the management team, manage a small finance team, and drive process improvements while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across the business. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualification or comparable experience.
• Strong management accounting experience.
• Experience budgets & forecasting.
• Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Confident leading and motivating a team.
• Commercially aware with a proactive approach.
• Able to communicate with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Highly organised with ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small finance team.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts.
• Manage month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
• Lead annual budgets, forecasts and longer-term financial planning.
• Provide meaningful financial information to support commercial decisions.
• Maintain robust financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Identify cost savings and opportunities for process improvement.
• Manage credit control, debtor days and bad debt exposure.
• Oversee VAT and HMRC returns.
• Provide oversight of HR processes across the business.
• Support key IT and cyber security processes.
• Work closely with the Managing Director and wider management team.

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a role where you can really make an impact?

We are recruiting for a Head of Finance to join an established and successful business based in Worcester. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a varied, hands-on position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function whilst playing a key role within the wider management team.

You'll combine strong technical finance expertise with a commercial mindset, leading the finance team and providing valuable insight to support business performance and future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a small finance team
